History
March 1999
Kuno founds AOI Japan Co., an OEM specialized in designing and developing parts for underwater cameras for major camera makers. The company goes on to launch RGBlue—a brand of high-spec underwater flashlights that are water resistant up to a depth of 100 meters—while also providing R&D for Ambientec.
July 2009
Kuno founds Ambientec Corp. to develop and sell portable solar batteries, as well as environmental monitoring devices.
2011
Ambientec develops a water resistant, rechargeable LED module and concentrates resources in developing and selling cordless lamps.
June 2012
Ambientec announces the Bottled cordless lamp at the Interior Lifestyle Tokyo trade fair.
April 2013
The Bottled Matte Silver is released.
April 2015
Ambientec displays products at Rossana Orlandi during the Milan Design Week, where the Xtal lamp is announced prior to its September release.
November 2016
The Torr lamp is released and goes on to win the 2017 Good Design Award and 2018 iF Product Design Award.
April 2017
Ambientec displays products at Rossana Orlandi during the Milan Design Week, where the Xtal Acrux and Xtal Becrux lamps are announced prior to their November release.
January 2018
Ambientec participates in the MAISON & OBJET PARIS.
March 2018
The Bottled Glossy White is released.
March 2019
The Turn lamp is released. Meanwhile, the Progressive Collection is launched to promote more experimental lamps, beginning with the Sage lamp.
April 2019
Ambientec displays products at Rossana Orlandi during the Milan Design Week.

TURN receives the 2019 Good Design Award.
